Together, the Old Gods and assembled forces of Earth managed to have Uxas and the army of Apokolips to retreat. While Ares had been introduced in 2017's Wonder Woman, his family was also part of the History Lesson sequence in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The Snyder Cut finally marked Darkseid's live-action debut as the iconic Apokolips lord, a character who had until then only been depicted in animation.
